Simon over at stuck in books ,ask people to join in Novella reading weekend well I started last night with a funny dirty little war by the Argentina writer Osvaldo Soriano .a book that follows a village splitting and fighting as peronist and non peronist’s .a fast paced book so far and a new argentina writer to me .
next on pile after this is The Pearl John Steinbeck

Sounds like a fun challenge, Stu. Glad you’re giving something of a nod to Steinbeck too. The Pearl is OK but given that he’s working in the confines of retelling a traditional tale, it’s not his best literary creation. Still enjoyable reading though.
Good luck with the challenge
Rob
It was ok rob Just finished it hard to stray when retelling a story but his writing is always so beautiful even the ordinary of his is better than most others ,all the best stu
Hope you enjoy all the novella’s Stu. I wanted to join in with this but seem to have been hit by the dreaded readers block!

Those look like interesting reads. I’m only starting to discover novellas, but I very much enjoyed the ones I read. I’d recommend Chess by Stefan Zweig 🙂
