What was your childhood favourite ?

Nice meme, Stu, thanks for sharing it here. My favourite unforgettable childhood book is A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle: I was blown away by the idea of time travel, and it was also the first book I’d ever read where the girl was the real hero.
My childhood favourites were The Chronicles of Narnia. I loved the idea of stepping through a wardrobe into another world.
I’m with you on this one Stu – read The Hobbit about the same age as you – had read the Narnia books and then a family friend gave me a copy of The Hobbit to read next. I could still just sit down and sink into it now!
One of my teachers read part of this to us when I was 7. Got a copy for my eighth birthday
Well my favourite certainly isn’t The Hobbit which I tried reading and gave up on – three times. Mine was Black Beauty except that I didn’t like the bits where the horse was suffering
