Well I decide for today just go to my shelves and have a good look around and the first I saw and went oh yeah I brought that and haven’t read it yet .It was this Herman Hesse short story collection which I picked up a few years ago with German lit month in mind ,but also to remind folks Hesse had written other things apart from Steppenwolf ,Siddhartha and Glass bead game .I remember I stuck it to back of the shelves as the cover as you see is rather surreal ,but finding it this morning I think I will keep it now in mind for this years German lit month
What book had you forgotten ?

  1. Envious! I have that book but with a boring cover.

My forgotten book would be a book of short stories by Zola which I found around the time we started that collaborative Zola blog.

  2. I have this very edition – but I bought it new (£1.95!). I used to love Hesse and have quite a few of his books (I’ve got Journey to the East with a similar cover). I’m a little scared to read him again now…

  3. My forgotten book is one I bought on a business trip to the USA then had to leave behind in the office because my case was full. A colleague reminded me about it this week but never thought to say what it’s called. Hmm
