Taking a break

Well I’m sorry to say my dear winston isn’t improving if anything he is getting worse .The tablets initially seemed to improve on fri and Saturday morning but since then he has gone down hill .I will be going back to vets tomorrow to see what they can do but I think my lovely big boy is letting his life slip through his paws .As one can imagine for Amanda and I this is a heartbreaking situation ,not helped by lack of funds but I have to do what is best for my boy and at moment he isn’t himself and I’m finding it hard to think straight so I feel a break from blogging is in order while I straighten my head out and sort my boy out for good or bad

  1. Sorry to know that Winston is not well, Stu. Hope he gets well soon. Sending positive thoughts and prayers to all of you.

  2. Sorry to hear this sir. I know how much you love Winston. Fingers crossed for him.

Take a break and think a little bit. Thinking of you all at this difficult time.

  3. That is so sad ….my heart goes out to you . Our old dog (15) is in a similar situation and it is heartbreaking to contemplate life without him .

  4. Oh man, this is heartbreaking. I hope they can help him. I’m sure you will do the right thing for him, no matter how hard it will be for you.

  5. I’m so sorry to hear about Winston not being well. I’ve followed your blog for quite a while, so somehow it took me by surprise to hear that Winston is seriously ill.. I thought I would like to send Winston a “Get Better Soon” wish.

  6. Stu, a little while ago another blogger at Utter Biblio set up a fund raising page on Gofundme to raise money for a headstone for his daughter’s grave and was overwhelmed with the response (http://utterbiblio.wordpress.com/2014/03/08/score-one-for-humanity/). As a regular reader of your blog and in recognition of all of the free hours you pore into this blog for your followers, I would be more than happy to make a small contribution towards your vet fees if you decided to do the same. I get a lot of pleasure out of reading your blog and would feel very privileged to be able to support you in your care of Winston.

All the best for you, Amanda and Winston, you obviously care for him a great deal.

  7. I’m so sorry about Winston, Stu. I checked your Twitter feed and saw your sad news. May he be at peace. My very best wishes to you and Amanda. xo

  8. Dear Stu,
I’m so very sorry to hear about your beloved Winston. I’m glad you and Amanda have each other to help you through your sadness and grief. And, as I try to remember when I lose an adored canine, no dog can ask for more in life than to have had the enduring love of two caring owners.

  9. So sorry Stu, as I’ve commented on Facebook already. I hadn’t seen this post at that time as I was overseas and not doing a good job of keeping up. Very sad days for you both I know. These dogs, our pets, just melt our hearts and we miss them so.

  10. I have put forward your name and blog on my page as a Most Inspiring Blogger. If you wish to participate I’m sure people would enjoy it. You really are a good inspiration and all a good blogger should be.

  11. My family tells me, at the times that I have suffered, that courage grows strong in a wound. May you find extraordinary courage when it hurts the most. It is hard sometimes to be brave. Much love to you, Meredith
