A few changes an apology

AS of late a few more english/american books have crept in also a few to many review books .I decide to cut down on both of these .I spent the weekend reading some of my own novellas as I’m trying to stock pile books ready for reading Parallel stories (know it a review copy but I would have got it anyway if I d not been sent it ).Whilst doing this I released that in some ways I ve lost track the last couple of months of where I want winstonsdad to be and that is more translation and most of those books being less well-known,also on the experimental side of fiction , that is what I wanted to do from  the start of the blog so I hold my hands up and say sorry to you all and will try to keep more to my own choices of books .I was also nudge by some questions I ve been given for a forth coming interview of myself I m putting on the blog in a couple of weeks .I just felt I had to say it

Is there anything you thing I miss in translation ?

  1. Be following with interest whatever path you take winstonsdad down, at the end of the day apologies not necessary, as the blog is a representation of you so whatever you read be it trans or waugh, it is still you.

  2. Don’t apologise – your blog is wonderful, whatever you decide to read and no I don’t think you are missing out on anything in translation – you have a fantastic variety – keep up the great work. 🙂

  3. Don’t apologise Stu! it’s your blog, not ours! You read what you want and an occasional American or English books in here just add on to the variety. You haven’t missed anything. 🙂

  4. Howdy, Stu!
Your thoughts on whatever books you read will always interest me.

And to put my two cents’ worth on the matter, I’ve noticed that most bloggers refresh themselves and take breaks from their standard fare now and then. I think this enriches their reviewing of all books.

If anyone ever asks me, I would recommend that they follow a regimen that feels good and right to them, and take whatever direction they need to take.

    Wishing you well!

    1. Thanks for kind word Judith just felt hAd to say I was going change tact slightly ,as got caught up in one direction and left anmpother behind ,all the best stu

  5. What everyone else says Stu. Read what you want, when you want, and solely for yourself. Everyone knows you specialise in translated lit, but that doesn’t mean that you should ONLY specialise in this. It’s not like you’ve cut off your options by calling yourself Winston’s Translated Fiction or anything.
    Warmest

  6. I repeat what others say. I enjoy your blog whatever you read and write about, and you are always adding more books to my TBR list. I love that photo of Winston:)

  7. I see blogging as a kind of personal research – no end, only process; changes and new directions are always exciting.
    Love reading your writing!

  8. Can I just echo everyone else’s sentiments. There is no need to apologise. Your blog is YOUR blog — to do what you want with. In many ways blogs are works in progress, ever-changing in line with your reading changes etc. Keep up the good work, Stu.

  9. I disagree with everyone above – there was a definite need for an apology. It has been made, accepted, and we can now all move on with our lives…

    …one (translated) book at a time 😉

  10. I love reading your reviews of lesser known books, fiction in other languages translated into English as well as English / American books. Looking forward to reading your next review 🙂

  11. Whether you choose English books or books in translation, your choices never disappoint, Stu.
I’d like to read more non-English books again as well though.
